TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/24/12 -- Softchoice Corporation (TSX:SO) announced today it has been named to CRN's second annual list of the Tech Elite 250. The CRN Tech Elite 250 is a definitive list of solution providers with deep technical expertise and premier certifications in the data center market. The list was developed by CRN editors and is based on the level and depth of technical certifications from Cisco, Citrix, Dell, EMC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Microsoft, NetApp, Symantec and VMware.
"With so much change and complexity, more and more organizations are seeking partners with proven skills so they can implement new data center solutions quickly, effectively and with confidence," said David MacDonald, President and CEO of Softchoice. "Investing in our people and various certifications is all about meeting this demand while allowing us to build deeper and more valuable relationships with our customers."
Softchoice's business has undergone significant transformation in recent years. Since 2008, the Company has augmented its expertise in IT fulfillment and asset management with the addition of roughly 180 solution architects and 140 services personnel to help customers design and implement a variety of solutions. Areas of expertise include networking, server and storage virtualization as well as mobility solutions and private cloud infrastructure. Softchoice has grown substantially during this time with data center revenues poised to become the Company's largest overall business segment by 2012.
"The 2012 Tech Elite 250 list recognizes an exclusive group of Solution Providers that have shown a dedication to helping customers innovate while reducing costs," said Kelley Damore, Vice President, Editorial Director at UBM Channel. "By identifying and adapting to the skills and training needed to best serve today's customers, members of the Tech Elite 250 have proven their commitment to delivering the products and services that today's end-users value most."
In compiling the list, CRN editors worked with the UBM Channel research group and a team outside experts to define the most customer-beneficial technical certifications in the IT channel. These technical certifications have enabled solution providers to deliver premium products, services and support to their North American customers.
